Become a Salesforce Certified Heroku Architect

Coming from an AWS Solutions Architect background, I wanted to validate my ability to design solutions specifically on Heroku. The exam was challenging because it tests a different mindset—you're leveraging the platform's simplicity and managed services, not building everything from scratch. The scenarios make you think about multi-tenant data design, add-on ecosystems, and graceful scaling. Earning this credential has been a key differentiator for me when consulting with SaaS startups that need to move fast without sacrificing reliability.

As someone focused on DevOps, the Heroku Architect certification was the perfect deep dive into a mature PaaS. The questions on CI/CD, pipeline management, and governance were intense and practical. It’s not a memorization test; it’s an application test. You have to weigh trade-offs between performance, security, and cost in real-time. I walked out feeling like I had a proven, structured understanding of the entire Heroku ecosystem, which is invaluable for standardizing and securing our company's deployment workflows.

I've been building on Heroku for years and went into the exam thinking my experience would carry me. I was wrong—in the best way possible.
