Who should attend this workshop?

Primary Audience (Who It's Designed For) 1) Aspiring & Junior Salesforce Developers: This is the core audience. If you want to build a career as a Salesforce Developer, this workshop is a critical step. It covers the foundational programmatic tools (Apex, Lightning Web Components) and data modeling needed for the Platform Developer I certification. 2) Experienced Developers New to Salesforce: Software developers from other stacks (Java, .NET, JS) who are transitioning to the Salesforce ecosystem will learn the platform-specific paradigms, languages, and constraints. 3) Current Salesforce Professionals Preparing for PD1 Certification: This includes:     *  Administrators who want to "level up" and learn to write code to solve complex business logic that clicks can't handle.     *  Functional Consultants who want to understand the technical limits and possibilities to design better, more feasible solutions.     * App Builders/Advanced Admins who have hit the limits of declarative tools and need to add programmatic functionality. Secondary Audience (Who Would Greatly Benefit) 4) Technical Architects (and Aspiring Ones): While architect roles require broader knowledge (PDII, Data Architecture, Integration), the PD1 workshop is the essential foundation. You can't design robust, scalable solutions without understanding the core development platform. 5) Product Owners & Technical Project Managers: For those managing Salesforce development teams, attending this workshop (or at least understanding its curriculum) provides crucial insight into development effort, complexity, and platform capabilities. It helps in setting realistic timelines and scope. Key Prerequisites (What You Should Know Before Attending) Most official workshops assume you have:     * Salesforce Platform Basics: Understanding of objects, fields, records, and the core data model.     * Declarative Automation Knowledge: Familiarity with Flow, Process Builder, and validation rules (you know their limits).     * Basic Programming Concepts: Understanding of variables, loops, conditional logic, and object-oriented principles (even from another language) is highly recommended. What You'll Learn (The "Why") The workshop typically focuses on:     * Apex Fundamentals: Triggers, classes, testing.     *Lightning Web Components (LWC): Modern JavaScript framework for building custom UIs.     *Data Modeling & Management: Programmatic SOQL, DML, transactions.     *Governor Limits: The critical concept of writing efficient, platform-friendly code.     *Debugging & Deployment: Using logs, and understanding change sets or DevOps processes. Final Recommendation You should strongly consider attending if your goal is to: 1) Pass the Platform Developer I certification. 2) Build custom, coded solutions on Salesforce that go beyond clicks. 3) Communicate effectively with a development team in technical terms. 4)Transition into a technical role on the Salesforce platform. If you're unsure, take the free, pre-requisite trails on Trailhead (like "Apex Basics & Database" and "Lightning Web Components Basics"). If you can follow those, you're ready for the workshop.

What People Are Saying

Discover how our course has transformed the careers of many aspiring Salesforce developers.

Background:  Recent Computer Science Graduate Coming out of college with a CS degree, I knew Java and fundamentals, but I had no specialized platform skills. The Salesforce Platform Developer I certification was my targeted investment to break into the tech industry with a high-demand skill set. The exam forced me to learn the 'Salesforce way' of doing things—how the platform's multi-tenant architecture impacts code, how to use SOQL efficiently, and how to build secure, modern applications with LWCs. It was the perfect bridge between academic knowledge and a real-world, enterprise platform. Recruiters from top consulting partners specifically mentioned my PD1 certification during interviews, and it was a major factor in landing my first job at a global SI.
Alex Johnson

Associate Salesforce Developer at a Global Partner (e.g., Slalom, Accenture)

Background:  Certified Administrator for 3 years.  As a Senior Admin, I hit a ceiling. I could build amazing things declaratively, but our company needed complex, coded solutions. I was intimidated by the PD1 exam, but I knew it was the necessary next step to advance my career and salary. The hardest part was shifting my mindset from clicks to code. I spent hours in my Developer Console debugging triggers and writing test classes. Passing the PD1 validated my technical depth and was the crucial milestone on my path to becoming a Solution Architect and now a Technical Architect. It signaled to my employers and the market that I could design and oversee robust, scalable solutions.
Maria Garcia

Salesforce Technical Architect (formerly Senior Admin)

Background:  Former IT Support Specialist For two years, I was stuck in IT support, answering phones and resetting passwords. I knew I wanted to be a builder, not just a fixer. I dedicated six months to Trailhead, focusing on Apex and Lightning Web Components. The PD1 exam was tough—it really tests your understanding of governor limits, trigger best practices, and asynchronous processing. Passing it was the key that unlocked the door. Within a week of updating my LinkedIn with the certification, I was recruited for my current role as a Junior Developer. It was a complete career transformation. The certification didn't just teach me code; it gave me the credibility to make the jump.
