Primary Audience: * Nonprofit Consultants – Professionals implementing Salesforce for nonprofit clients. * Salesforce Admins & Architects working in or with nonprofit organizations. * Nonprofit IT/Operations Staff responsible for managing Salesforce. * Implementation Partners specializing in the nonprofit sector. Key Prerequisites (Recommended): - Hands-on experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (formerly NPSP). - Understanding of nonprofit processes (donor management, programs, fundraising, etc.). - Foundational Salesforce certifications (e.g., Admin) are beneficial. Goal: To validate skills in designing and implementing Salesforce solutions tailored to nonprofit needs, including data modeling, reporting, and outcome tracking.
What you'll learn
Architectural Mastery for Nonprofit Data Models
You'll learn to design and implement scalable data architectures specific to nonprofit needs. This includes mastering the Account/Contact model, building custom objects for programs and services, and establishing clear relationships for constituents (donors, volunteers, beneficiaries) to track interactions and impact holistically.
End-to-End Fundraising & Engagement Solution Design
Gain expertise in configuring the complete donor journey within Salesforce. You'll learn to set up gift processing, manage campaigns and appeals, automate acknowledgment workflows, and implement engagement plans. A core outcome is the ability to build unified reporting dashboards that tie fundraising revenue directly to program outcomes.
Strategic Implementation & Change Management Methodology
Move beyond configuration to learn the consultative framework for successful implementations. This includes conducting nonprofit-specific discovery, gathering requirements for outcomes measurement, planning data migration from legacy systems (like spreadsheets or Raiser's Edge), and building a change management plan to ensure user adoption in a resource-constrained environment.
What you'll learn
Core Nonprofit Data Model Configuration
You'll learn to rapidly implement the essential Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud data architecture. This includes hands-on configuration of the Household Account model, key relationships for contacts, and setting up standard objects for donations, programs, and participation to track basic constituent engagement and impact.
Essential Fundraising Operations & Automation
Gain the skills to configure day-to-day fundraising operations. This covers setting up donation processing (one-time & recurring), basic campaign tracking, and creating automated workflows for gift acknowledgments and donor communications—focusing on the most critical automation for nonprofit efficiency.
Foundation for Reporting & Success Measurement
Learn to build the key reports and dashboards that prove value to stakeholders. This includes standard reports for fundraising performance, program participation, and constituent overviews, establishing the baseline for connecting activities to outcomes and demonstrating impact.
What you'll learn
The Nonprofit Data Model Blueprint
You'll learn the "why" and "how" of the core data structure, focusing on the Household Account model and the fundamental relationships between Contacts, Donations, and Programs. The goal is to understand how to organize nonprofit data effectively in Salesforce from the start.
High-Impact Fundraising Setup
Gain the ability to configure the most critical fundraising objects immediately. This includes hands-on setup for Donations, Campaigns (for tracking appeals), and a key automation—like a simple acknowledgment email—to demonstrate rapid time-to-value for development teams.
Building Your First Impact Dashboard
Learn to create one essential dashboard that answers the primary question: "How are we doing?" This involves building a basic report on fundraising totals and program participation, providing a visual snapshot of performance and a foundation for future reporting.

Discover how our course has transformed the careers of aspiring Salesforce professionals
Coming from a background in nonprofit program management, I wanted to pivot into a more technical role. The Nonprofit Cloud Consultant certification was the perfect bridge. It validated my deep understanding of nonprofit processes while proving I could architect the right Salesforce solution. It was challenging, but passing it sent a clear message to employers: I speak both the language of mission and the language of technology.
Former Program Director, now a Nonprofit Cloud Success Manager
This certification was the key to translating nonprofit needs into scalable solutions. It's not just about knowing the features; it's about understanding the 'why' behind them. The exam pushed me to think like a strategic partner, not just an admin. I now confidently design programs that streamline case management, track outcomes effectively, and deepen donor engagement—all on a single platform.
Senior Nonprofit Consultant at a Salesforce Partner
As someone who works directly for a nonprofit, earning this credential was a game-changer for our organization. I gained the confidence to re-engineer our entire program management lifecycle. I'm no longer just 'managing our Salesforce org'—I'm using it as a strategic asset to demonstrate impact to our board and funders. The certification gave me the credibility and the knowledge to advocate for technology-driven change from the inside.
